Facilitator: Susan Galbraith, Senior representative, The Great Books Foundation
9:00 - 3:30 12 July 2006
(Pre-registration required for participation)
The Shared Inquiry Method transcends materials, grade level, and subject matter and reaches into the heart of what a teacher is. The day-long workshop will introduce the Shared Inquiry Method and will take participants through a practical application of delivering inquiry-based learning in the classroom. Teachers will learn how to design a cycle of activities that can be adapted for students Grades K-12, using selections from world literature and primary source documents. The flexibility of both the method and materials will be demonstrated, giving teachers opportunities for successful alignment with the PYP and MYP frameworks.
The workshop is designed for teachers who want to improve their abilities in integrating inquiry-based learning and for administrators who are looking for a way to build capacity in their teachers and help students of all backgrounds and abilities succeed in a PYP or MYP school.
Lunch and breaks included in the registration fee.
