Addressing Changes in Community, Action, Service
Audience: Diploma Programme Recent changes in CAS ask coordinators to expand the definition of "reflections" and create a team of CAS advisors. This session will explain the CAS changes and offer practical suggestions on how to implement them and evaluate the new reflection process. Theresa Biggs, Diploma Programme Coordinator, Plano East Senior High SchoolTheresa Biggs received her undergraduate degree conferred in 1996 and her M.Ed. in 2002. She entered the IB world as a Language A1 English teacher in 1997 and added CAS coordinator to her duties in 2001. She eventually became a workshop leader for both Language A1 and CAS in 2004. She left the classroom in 2007 to become a full time IB coordinator. Ms Biggs is currently co-writing a Language A1 component of a Title 1 Project with IB North America and is honored to be working on an international CAS committee in Cardiff to develop teacher support materials for CAS coordinators and advisors.
