Creating a Global Community: IB and BlinkNow
Audience: Diploma Programme Maggie Doyne graduated from West Morris Mendham High School in 2005. She had made the unusual decision to take a gap year and spent that time in a LeapNow program settling into an orphanage in India teaching English. She fell in love with the kids, the work, and the landscape of India. After visiting Nepal and observing the needs of children there, Ms Doyne purchased a piece of land with plans to build a school. Three years later, her school is operational and she runs her own NGO, Kopila Valley Chidren's Home. This session will chronicle her journey from her IB Diploma classes to India to Nepal and her future plans. Kathleen Kremins, Diploma Programme Coordinator, West Morris Mendham HSDr Kathleen Kremins is currently the Diploma Programme Coordinator at West Morris Mendham High School in New Jersey. She also teaches IB English and Theory of Knowledge. She is an assistant IB examiner and holds a doctorate from Drew University. He has spent his three years of retirement advising new IB schools and is currently a Field Representative for the IB North America. |
