PYP = AYP
Audience: Primary Years Programme This session will explore how the implementation of the Primary Years Programme, which focuses on inquiry-based learning and taps into all eight multiple intelligences, can help to ensure that schools achieve adequate yearly progress and meet state goals for improved academic achievement. Best practices which promote higher order thinking will be explored, as well as how to utilize the PYP planner without overwhelming teachers. Ways to engage the instructional leadership teams and provide daily collaborative team planning will be addressed, including enhanced reflection of planners and allowing students to take charge of their own learning through an integration of the arts.
