This forum will provide an opportunity to discuss recent developments in the establishment of an organization-wide research strategy. It will include an overview of current and developing research services such as the International Education Research Database, Inventory of Research Topics, and the online Research Forum. However, the main focus of the session will be to encourage participation and discussion by teacher practitioners of current topics of interest.
James Cambridge, Head of Research Projects, International Baccalaureate
James Cambridge, Ph.D. is the Head of Research Projects with the International Baccalaureate research team at the University of Bath, UK. He has worked in Britain, the Middle East and Southern Africa in a variety of educational contexts including science teaching, assessment, curriculum development, initial teacher education and continuing professional development. His current research interests include enquiries into organizational culture, evaluation of institutions and educational programmes, institutional mentoring partnerships, and intergenerational learning. His publications include articles in refereed journals and chapters in edited books including, most recently, two chapters in the Sage Handbook of Research in International Education.
Richard Caffyn, Head of Research Support and Development, International Baccalaureate
Richard Caffyn is the Head of Research Support and Development with the International Baccalaureate research team located in the University of Bath, UK. He is responsible for developing the capacity for school-based research throughout the IB. His research interests include international education, school micropolitics and education management. He is completing his Ph.D. on the micropolitics of international schools and has recently published a chapter on fragmentation in schools in the Sage Handbook of Research in International Education.
