The Design Cycle: Learning How to LearnRoom: Huronpresented by Rena Berlin, IB Regional Field RepresentativeThe MYP Technology design cycle is a powerful teaching tool for all disciplines. This session reviews how the design cycle encourages student centered learning and organization while facilitating self-assessment and individual growth. Though the design cycle is a major part of the MYP technology curriculum, it is not only a tool for teaching technology; it is a tool for understanding the process of research. This session emphasizes how the design cycle is used in the MYP personal project and the Diploma Programme extended essay, and most importantly, how it can be used as a tool to give students an opportunity to learn how to learn.
