Session: Block 5: Saturday 2:00 to 3:15, Room: Pacific L While university admissions officers are increasingly actively recruiting IB Diploma students, there remains a good deal of tension between their desire to attract prepared students, both academically and socially, and student and parent expectation that course credit be awarded for the rigorous SL courses they have taken. Session: Block 1: Friday 11:15 to 12:30, Room: Pacific L A new Diploma publication is being written that provides guidance to schools on the effective implementation of the curriculum as a whole in schools. An outline of the key points, principles and practices will be presented with implications considered. The presentation will be followed by discussion, questions and answers. Each Laureate discusses a global concern forcing the viewer to consider and reconsider how the decisions each of us make affects our society, other societies, and future generations. It will also be an opportunity for participants to contribute to the development of future directions through dialogue with the IB's Academic Director. Session: Block 4: Saturday 11:15 to 12:30, Room: Pacific L Summit School District is in the process of implementing IB programmes for all students at the pre-K through 12th grade levels. The high school and middle school are currently authorized to offer the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme and all six elementary schools are in the process of becoming authorized Primary Years Programme schools.
