IB Graduates Speak Out
Audience: Middle Years Programme At 40, it is time for the IB to assess the impact of its educational mission on the lives of its. Three former IB Diploma students, one of whom also completed the IB Middle Years Program, will come together in this session to reflect on their IB experiences. These are three people from very different backgrounds, who are at different places in their ongoing education. We have challenged them to share their insights- to tell us what was positive about their IB experience and what could have been better. Most of all, we have asked them to be reflective, critical thinkers - and to let us know if the IB experience has had a lasting impact on their world view. This will be a largely interactive session, as most of the time will be devoted to a dialogue between the graduates and the session participants. Darrell Jay Bennett, Jr., IB Diploma Graduate,Bio Pending Paul Campbell, Head of Outreach and Volunteer Services, International BaccalaureatePaul Campbell is the Head of the Outreach and Volunteer Services division at IB North America. An employee of IB North America since 1988, he has also worked as the region’s primary liaison to colleges and universities, governments, regional associations, professional associations, interested schools, and the news media. Prior to working for IB North America, Paul was a staff writer and columnist for several daily newspapers in northern New Jersey. At the same time, he worked for two large non-profit organizations. He helped arrange and manage a large ecumenical gathering in Vancouver, and also worked to expedite cultural exchanges between American and Russian lay people. Paul received his education in journalism at the University of Michigan. |
