Impacting Standardized Testing with IB Programmes

This session explores the impact of each of the three IB programmmes on standardized test scores. Data from the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) are used as examples. A longitudinal look at three years of statistics provides concrete information about the influence of IB programmes at all levels of learning.


Cecelia Boswell, Consultant, Texas IB Schools

Cecelia Boswell, Ed.D., is an educator with over 35 years of experience in education. Dr Boswell served as the language arts and advanced academics consultant for a Texas Education Service Center (ESC) and as the state director for AP and IB Projects. Under her leadership, The Small Schools Guide for Gifted, AP Task Force research, and AP/IB Projects were developed across the state. Currently, Dr Boswell is an Independent Consultant and Founder of Austin Creek Educational Systems. She works throughout Texas with schools and ESCs, analyzes data for Texas IB Schools, and develops projects for the Texas Education Agency.
