WelcomeWelcome to the 2007 IBNA Annual Regional Conference web site! The conference theme, “Educating for Our Shared Future”, is meant to challenge and inspire our community to investigate issues of equity, diversity and international mindedness inside as well as outside of the classroom. Also, while the urgencies of every day command so much of our energy, we must reflect on our practice and consider its’ implications for the future. Few places could be more conducive to this reflection than the city of Chicago, which houses more IB world schools than any school district in the world. The work and talents of students from many of the public and private schools in and around the city will be on display at the conference. The conference itself will feature several outstanding speakers, over 80 breakout sessions highlighting best practice at IB schools, updates on the latest developments in all three IB programmes, and an expanded roster of in depth pre-conference workshops. We will also celebrate your achievements with a special off site dinner on Saturday night. There will be an exhibit hall featuring products and services tailored to the needs of IB schools. We encourage you to check this web site periodically for the latest details on the conference program. This is the only time each year that our entire community comes together in one place. The 2007 conference, likely to be our largest yet, will bring together IB coordinators, teachers, administrators, counselors, school district officials, school board members, ministers of education, parents, researchers, and university representatives. We hope you will join us. |
