Destination TULSA - Why IB Students Choose The University of Tulsa

Room: Arkansas

presented by Rick Arrington, IB Recruitment Coordinator, The University of Tulsa

This session will focus on why colleges should target IB students for admission and why and how The University of Tulsa has strongly recruited IB students for the last six years. We will also talk about the results of that recruiting - for our university and for the students involved. Find out about an "exemplary" IB recognition policy - one that truly recognizes and rewards students' efforts as IB Diploma Programme students.

Rick Arrington, IB Recruitment Coordinator, The University of Tulsa
Rick Arrington was an IB Diploma Programme Coordinator at Tulsa's Booker T. Washington High School for 15 years before retiring from teaching. He began working at The University of Tulsa in July 2000. In addition to academic advising, Rick serves as the university's IB Recruitment Coordinator and has visited over 125 IB schools—mainly in the US, as well as in Ireland and Vietnam. As a former IB Coordinator, teacher and parent, Rick is an IB "true believer" and works to encourage students (and their parents) to work toward the IB Diploma - and to seriously consider The University of Tulsa for their college career.
