Registration

What is the registration fee?

Participant registration is USD $750. After 15 April 2009 registration will be $850. Please note that participant registration does not include access to pre-conference sessions. Registration for pre-conference sessions is available online and is subject to additional fees.

How do I register for pre-conference sessions?

Pre-conference session registration is available through our online system as of December 2008. Please click here to register and select "IB Conference of the Americas 2009" from the event list after logging in. Please note that you must be a full conference participant in order to attend a pre-conference session and you may only register for and attend one pre-conference session.

Can I register online?

Yes, registration for the conference is only available online. Please click here to register. IB coordinators may access the online registration system using their existing user names and passwords (IBNET for authorized schools, OCC for candidate schools). If you are a registering from a school investigating one of our programmes, or you represent an organization or institution, please create an account under the "Interested Schools" tab.

What are accepted forms of payment for registration?

Participants may pay using credit card (American Express, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover), check, money order, or purchase order in USD made to the order of IB (International Baccalaureate). Please note that after 5 June 2009, only credit card payments will be accepted.

How long does it take to receive registration confirmation?

The IB Coordinator will receive a final confirmation of registration in two (2) business days following receipt of payment to the IB New York office. Please do not make non-refundable travel arrangements until you have received an official e-mail confirmation from IB New York. To avoid delay in receiving this confirmation, please ensure that the school does not have any outstanding balance due to IB. Schools with an outstanding balance due will not receive registration confirmation until the balance has been paid.

Is there a registration deadline?

Yes, the conference registration deadline is 22 June 2008. ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO SPACE AVAILABILITY AND ARE ACCEPTED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.

How do I change my registration details?

You can access your registration details by logging into your account on our online registration system. If you require a participant name change, please contact the Support Desk at 212 696 4464 x1 or ibna@ibo.org. Please note that registration changes can be made up to 7 days before the start date of the conference (2 July 2009).

What is the cancellation policy?

All cancellations must be made 30 days prior (9 June 2009) to the start date of the conference for a full refund. There will be no refunds for “no-shows” or for cancellations made within 30 days prior to the start date of the conference.

What is the Special Events Pass?

The Special Events Pass allows for participants to bring a guest to the opening reception and closing celebration. The Special Events Pass fee is US $175. Please note that Special Events Pass ticket holders will not be allowed access to daily conference activities or meals.

Do presenters have to register?

Yes, all primary and additional presenters must register at the full conference rate. Please click here to register now. The IB Conference of the Americas provides a voluntary professional development opportunity to receive international recognition while sharing best practices with other IB educators.

How and when will I find out if my proposal has been accepted?

The deadline for submission of proposals is 28 February 2009. We will notify presenters of acceptance by late March 2009.
